Hi Tristan: I’m a follower who lives in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. From the route you have outlined you are going to miss the best part of the UP, the Keweenaw Peninsula. I live in Houghton, home to Michigan Tech and some nice local breweries. US 41 heads out from here to Copper Harbor, at the top of Michigan. Gnarly mountain biking and rugged Lake Superior shoreline. A lot of history here involving copper mining, prehistoric and historic. I would love to meet with you when you come through the area. I have a Chevy Traverse which I rig for camping without doing any permanent or built in changes. I’d be happy to show you. I’m retired now; I was formerly the superintendent of Isle Royale National Park, and then the Keweenaw National Historical Park. BTW, June is the height of black fly season here in the UP, so come prepared. My cell phone is 906-370-9597. Safe travels. Enjoy following you.
