Aliens & Free Lakeside Boondocking Near Yosemite

In this video I hunt for Native American rock art in Nevada’s Big Rocks Wilderness, have some alien encounters (of a sort), head into California, wander around the fantastic South Tufa area of Mono Lake, and find an amazing free lakeside camping spot on Grant Lake, not too far from the east entrance of Yosemite National Park. Surprises in the Nevada Wilderness

Wildlife and Quesadillas

In this video I continue exploring the highlands of the Markagunt Plateau in southwestern Utah. I hike up a mountain, try and fail to hike to another spot, explore Cedar Breaks National Monument, drive one of the highest roads in Utah, have a couple of wildlife encounters, and make some dinner from a gorgeous camp on the edge of a meadow. Whew! (Click here if you can’t see the video below.)

Showering Under a Desert Waterfall

In this video I leave southern Utah’s Capitol Reef National Park and set out to find an obscure and difficult-to-access (but very pretty) waterfall called Sand Creek Falls. I then steer my trusty RAV4 southward and drive up onto the Markagunt Plateau, a forested, high-elevation plateau east of Cedar City, Utah. (Click here if you can’t see the video below.)

Help Me Plan My Big Road Trip!

I leave tomorrow on a monthlong road trip and couldn’t be more excited! In this video I talk a bit about the trip, and I also ask for your input on places I should see and things I should do along the way, particularly in northern California (east of I-5), southeastern Oregon, and southern Idaho.
