  1. You were close to my home town of South Bend, IN home of Notre Dame University! 90 miles east of Chicago.
The Midwest has some lovely spots. It was a great area to grow up in. I lived there for 21 years, then moved to Fl to teach elementary school, & retired in Ogden, UT. Keep these great videos coming. Thank you for sharing your adventures!

  2. I don’t know exactly where you went in Central Illinois, that is my home turf-ground is flat and the dirt is some of the best for growing corn and soy beans 🙂 If you drove down
I-57 and saw a water tower with a smiley face, that is in my home town. Southern Illinois along the Mississippi and the Illinois rivers are hilly and beautiful in the fall, my Dad’s family’s home turf. Thanks for not saying the “s” at the end of Illinois. I hope you get/got to see Illinois outside of Chicago. At one time, there was a tourist song: “Just outside of Chicago is a place called Illinois”. Safe travels.

  3. I grew up in the St. Louis area near Illinois. There are some nice trees and greenery there . It is pretty nice in the Spring and Fall, but It gets hot and humid in the summertime. It was a nice place to grow up but I prefer the west myself.
