Great information! Keep making these videos. I have read your book and enjoyed it.
If you were ready to replace your vehicle what would you go with next? I have a Honda CRV that doesn’t have flat folding seats and I’d like to replace it only once and be able to travel for a couple of weeks at a time. A mini-van with Sto-n-go seats looks very spacious compared to my Honda or the Rav.
Thx
Eric
Eric, that’s a good question. I was checking out minivans before I decided on the Rav, and they all felt infinitely more spacious than the Rav. But two big things for me were higher clearance and excellent gas mileage, and a minivan didn’t really fit with either of those. If gas mileage were not a concern, I’d probably get a Toyota 4Runner. But if it were a concern, I’d get another Rav, probably a hybrid one.
Hi Tristan. I just came across your blog and am finding it very helpful! I have a 2008 RAV-4 that I traveled in a few years ago for about five months. I’m about to head out again for awhile and am trying to research ideas on how to make better use of the space. Your blog has a ton of great ideas!
One question – do you have a link to the large black storage bin you use? I have some clear plastic ones that I used before, but I love the ruggedness of yours.
Thanks!!
Hi Kate. I’m glad you’ve found the blog and found it useful. Those plastic bins are amazing. I bought mine in person at a Walmart. They were in the automotive department and not with the other plastic bins. I don’t know if they’re still available, but yes, I have the link: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mini-Truck-Box/16795320
Good luck on your adventures, and let me know if you have any other questions!
