When I was a kid, Suburbans were the cars my friends’ moms used to shuttle us around town. In this video we meed Grady, who turns these 20-year-old soccer mom-mobiles into extremely capable and very comfortable off-road campers. These things are beasts. This video is a complete tour of one of the builds he makes through his company, Suboverland. We’re talking vanlife in an Suburban. We’re talking overlanding in style. We’re talking an awesome rig that is much more affordable than you think. (Click here if you can’t see the video below.)
Interested in getting a rig from Suboverland? Get in touch with Grady at Suboverland.com (And tell him Tristan from SUV RVing sent you.)

OMG!!!!! This is EXACTLY what I was looking for about two years ago when I wanted a vehicle to start camping again at age 69. Instead I settled for a class B pleasure way. My camper can’t go to all the places I want to. THANK YOU THANK YOU for finding this company
Dear Tristan,
You keep impressing me over and over again!
Thanks for sharing this video and other videos.
I appreciate how you teach us how to adventure in a frugal manner.
When you and Grady mentioned prices, my ears perked up.
We camp out of our 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Actually , my wife camps in it , with the Pomeranian, while I camp in my tent, outside. I’m 6 foot 2 inches tall, 200 pounds.
But this new “ option” looks like we could camp together in a more Comfortable and affordable way.
Thanks for sharing!
Michael
