  1. As per several other YouTube video’s, a very unique feature of Chaco Canyon is the Summer Solstice Alignment both by a piler key hole, likely the oldest in the US, and by building door ways. Their level of Astronomy knowledge was amazing.

  2. Hi Tristan. I moved to Jackson, Wy. in 1977 and lived there till 2015 when I moved to Tetonia, Id. and now somehow I am enjoying being semi retired in quiet little Sugar City, Id. as one of a handful of non LDS people that live here. We used to always plan a spring break trip south to explore the southwest and hopefully enjoy some warmer weather for a couple weeks. Back in the mid 90s we drove our small camper down to Capital Reef and on down the east side to the ferry at Bullfrog Marina. Then on to Natural Brdges, Canyon De Chelly and finally Chaco Canyon. At that time there was a small area by the entrance for camping. We were met and befriended by a retired couple that were there to help the park service determine what kind of impact vehicle traffic was having on the masonry of the nearby pueblos. He was a retired sound technician/professor and he had some sort of hi tech equipment to monitor vibrations. He took us to one of the pueblos and showed us one of the experiments they were doing. His wife would stand near a wall and do what they called a but bump against a wall and he would take measusurements on his equipment. At the time the Park Service was trying to decide whether to pave some of the road or leave it as a bumpy dirt road with vehicles bouncing up and down. We stayed in Chaco Canyon for a couple days but the nights were what I remember most. Those people were also looking at the night skies in wonder. I hope your hiatus gives you time to reset and focus on impoortant life things at home in Rock Springs. Best of luck to you and yours.

  3. Amazing ruins, cool super nova, and I loved the fossils, too! Went snow-shoeing today with a friend up in the Sierras. A while back I had recommended your channel to her, as she is a budding videographer. She started with your early vids and is working her way through them all! So, Tristan, we talked about you all day, and even tried some videos with inspiration from you in mind — it was a fun day!
